The case of the new red bag

Mother now has a posh new leather mini backpack to keep all her worldly goods safe and sound.
So its first outing is to Sainsbury's. After about an hours intensive shopping we arrive at the checkout, only to find that the backpack has been opened and her purse containing 50 pounds has been taken. Luckily her credit cards are in a separate pocket. When we reported the theft to the security people they were most helpful and promised to scan the instore video tapes and pass the information on to the police. Also, all the checkout people were informed to report any suspicious behavior to security. But what rotten luck on the backpack's first outing.

Once we had paid for the shopping and got another 50 pounds cashback to replace the stolen money, Mother went to the restaurant to order our food. I took the shopping back to the car and just as I was locking the car what did I spot on the front passenger seat, yes you've guessed it, the purse, with of course all the money safe and sound. So back to the shop find the security people and grovel, undo all the promised actions and grovel some more. Still it did mean we had a rather more relaxing meal than first anticipated, and our faith in Sainsbury's being a nice shop remains intact.

You remind me of all the little primary school kids with their standard issue "landsel" - red for the girls, black for the boys.
